As a Latino youth, I want to share my experience weeks after getting the first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. Everything has gone back to normal when it comes to my health. My arm no longer hurts after the three days of it hurting and I have not gotten a headache since then either. I am still waiting for my second dose of the Moderna vaccine. The wait time for the second dose of the Moderna vaccine is 28 days. I am one day away from getting my second dose. I am not worried this time around because I got it done once and had no problem with the COVID-19 vaccine.
How did I know when I need to come in for my second dose? Well, there is a website called V-Safe that keeps track of when you need your second dose of the COVID-19 vaccine. V-Safe not only keeps track of your second dose but also keeps track of the first COVID-19 vaccine dose symptoms. Every day it does health check-ins for the COVID-19 vaccine by sending me a text. I quickly answer a few questions on how I am doing and on my symptoms, if any.
