CVCC is Hiring for a Promotora Coordinator

Promotora Coordinator Recruitment

Under the immediate supervision of the Collaborative Director, the Promotora Coordinator will assist as the “lead” promotor/a for community outreach and education projects and/or to coordinate a volunteer Promotores program through the Chula Vista Community Collaborative.

 Plan, conduct, and coordinate outreach and educational activities in the community
 Establish rapport with lay leaders in the community and community stakeholders
 Recruit volunteers and program participants
 Assist with data collections and reporting
 Assist in surveying parents, community members, and community needs
 Coordinate community projects
 Participate in regular program meetings
 Lead community meeting for volunteer Promotores
 Maintain records of projects and relevant participant data
 Work closely with Family Resource Centers to be familiar with community resources
 Work closely with schools to engage parents in community activities
 Provide support to volunteer Promotores

 Applicant must have a minimum of two years working with Promotores or performing complex administrative duties
 Excellent communication and interpersonal skills and ability to maintain effective working relationships with volunteers and community members
 Ability to maintain positive relationships with parents, community members, key partners, and Family Resource Center personnel
 Ability to motivate and lead volunteers and identify and utilize individual strengths.
 Ability to work independently and take initiative
 Understand and carry out oral and written instructions; prepare reports as required; use computers and good grammar
 Ability to manage and track multiple projects and outcomes
 Must possess a valid California driver’s license and have access to reliable transportation
 Must be bilingual: English-Spanish.
 Ability to work a flexible schedule which may include evening and weekends.
